Rev. Jim Petersen's Bible Study will meet on Wednesday, May 7 at 12:00 P.M. for Ch.12 in your study guide Jesus Judges? (23:1-25:46)  BIBLE STUDY WILL NOT MEET ON SUNDAY MAY 11th as worship is being held at Central Christian Church at 10:30 A.M.  Bible Study will meet again on Wednesday, May 13 at 12:00 P.M. for Ch. 13 The Lifeblood of the Church (26:1-27:56)

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS & ROOM PICK UP

   Due to the Conference Annual Meeting, there is no Sunday School on May 11th.  Our congregation will be attending Central Christian Church (1025 W. Central Ave) at 10:30 A.M.  Nursery care will be provided and children are welcome to attend church with their parents.

    You will find an insert in the newsletter with Vacation Bible School information.  If you have children that will be coming, please fill out the form and return it to the office.  We still need volunteers to help make this wonderful experience come to life!

 

SUMMER UCC/CUMC SOFTBALL

The Salvation Army church league is co-ed, open to anyone age 16+ and is coached by CUMC's Bobby Lauver. Practice has started but it's not too late. Call the church office to get your name on the roster.

 

 

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH

Mental Health Month was created more than 50 years ago to raise awareness about mental health conditions and the importance of mental wellness for all. Mental health recovery support group meets weekly on Mondays from 3-4:30 P.M. and Fridays 10-11:30 A.M. at the Wellness Recovery Center, 513 1st Ave. S in Great Falls.  For more info, call Peer Support at (406) 727-0425.

 

Thanks to UCC for your donations and purchases at our UMW Rummage Sale last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  We really appreciate your support and because of supporters like you, we raised over $2,100!

MOVIE NIGHT AT THE CHURCH

Join us on Monday, May 19th for movie night. Jesus Christ Superstar (1hr, 47min) will be shown in the sanctuary at 6:30 P.M. hosted by Dave & Mary Neagle.

 

DIAPER SUNDAY CAME EARLY THIS YEAR

Thank you to all who contributed to this year's early Diaper Sunday.  There close to a dozen diaper packages in the crib in the narthex as well we collected $221.   It's not too late to contribute if you wish to do so!

 

 

 

Graduation Banquet, Friday May 16th, 6:00 P.M.

All UCC and CUMC youth are invited to attend a banquet honoring our 2008 graduates.  Free will offering at the door.  The menu is Italian chicken served over rice, salad, vegetable and bread.  A cake auction will follow dinner to help fund summer activities.  If you would like to make a cake to be auctioned off please contact Bobby Lauver at 868-2520.  RSVP to the office at 453-4316.

 

 

GOLFING OPPORTUNITIES

1. The Second Annual Rick Heck Memorial Golf Scramble- May 24th at the Anaconda Hills Golf Course.  Proceeds benefit the Great Falls Community Ice Foundation.  If interested, please call 455-1510 or email rickheckmemorial@bresnan.net.  Registration and fees are due by May 16th.

2.  Golfers to the Rescue- June 20th at Emerald Greens Gold Course. Proceeds benefit the Great Falls Rescue Mission.  For more information, contact Samantha Lodge at 761-2653.

Grady Higgins, son of Mark & Patty, graduating from GFH, going to U of M in Missoula.

Kelsey Johnson, daughter of Kevin & Susan, graduating from CMR, going to Concordia College in MN.

Ethan Kohoutek, son of Ken Kohoutek & Susan Thomas, graduating from CMR, going to U of M in Missoula.

Catherine Mercer, daughter of John & Colleen, graduating from CMR, going to MSU-Bozeman.  

JJ Petersen, son of Rev. Jim & Cathy, graduating from CMR, going to Secondary Life Skills at the Paris Gibson Education Center in Great Falls.

Amanda Ward, daughter of Anthony & Amanda, graduating from Foothills Christian School.

Shirley Woods, daughter of Mike & Cindy, graduating from GFH, joining the Air National Guard.  She will be training in Texas this summer and fall.
