ATTENTION VBS VOLUNTEERS AND CHRISTIAN ED BOARD

Would you like to spend a whole week this summer at a huge BEACH PARTY complete with surfing lessons, great beach music, beachcombing adventures, and so much more?  Sign up for a Vacation Bible School leadership role and you'll be promised an incredible week of fun in the Son as you help our children surf through the Scriptures and develop new Beach Be-Attitudes!

This Sunday June 1st after worship at 10:35 A.M. there is a combined VBS volunteer and Christian Ed Board meeting in the Conference Room.  If you are a board member or a volunteer for Vacation Bible School, we hope you will be able to attend as we will be planning for the upcoming weeks.

SUMMER NURSERY CARE IS NEEDED

Holly Garcia is taking the summer off from providing nursery care on Sunday mornings.  Two people are needed in the nursery for 9:30 A.M. worship and it is our responsibility to provide attendants on our designated Sundays.  Please see the Sunday School News & Room Pick Up article for dates that we need coverage and if you can help, please call the office, Bonnie Warren, or Erica LaTray.  Thank you!

Rev. Jim Petersen's Bible Study concludes on Sunday, June 1 at 10:45 A.M. with Ch.14, in your study guide God With Us (27:57-28:20)

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS & ROOM PICK UP

Children will begin in worship this Sunday at 9:30 A.M. before being dismissed to a Sunday Special in rooms 2 and 4 with Christeen Collins, Syneva Heupel and Erica LaTray.

Teachers are needed for Sunday Specials on 7/27, 8/17 and 8/24.  It's safer and more fun to do it with someone! Nursery care is needed for 6/1, 7/20, 7/27, 8/17 and 8/24.   Please call Bonnie Warren at 453-4316 or Erica LaTray at 452-2153 if you are able to help.

Dear Rev. Petersen, Christian Education Board, and Bertsche Fund,

Thank you very much for the service, breakfast, and $500 towards my college education.  I really appreciate everything that my church has done for me. Thanks again,

OTHER THANK YOU'S

Greetings:

Thank you for the monetary gift of $583 that your fine organization contributed to Emergency Services here at Opportunity Inc.  We rely on the generosity of your congregation and the entire community to help those less fortunate.  Many people in need will benefit from your contribution. -Kim Reynolds, Emergency Services Coord.    (from our Emergency Fund offering)

Dear Pastor Petersen and Friends,

Your generous gift of $1200 to Campus Ministries at Rocky Mountain College is a great encouragement as we seek to provide our students with individual attention both in and out of the classroom and to encourage a climate which reflects the Christian tradition on which Rocky was founded.  Thank you for your support of higher education for the young people who will be tomorrow's leaders.

Sincerely, Patsy Rettig for the RMC Students and Faculty

(from our budgeted benevolence)

Dear Friends,

We would like to express our sincere thanks to you for your recent generous donation of $168.75 to The Salvation

Army.  It is caring individuals such as you who make the work of The Salvation Army a reality.  If we did not  have the support and confidence of faithful donors who concern themselves with helping less fortunate, I do not know how  we could manage.  Every dollar you give makes a chance for the better in someone's life.

Sincerely, Joseph Huttenlocker, Major Corps Officer

(from our Easter offering)

THERE WILL BE ABBREVIATED OFFICE HOURS ON FRIDAY MAY 30th. THE OFFICE WILL BE OPEN FROM 9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.

We are looking for volunteers to assist with maintaining the grounds this summer.  If you are interested in weeding, planting or lawn care (we have a riding mower!), please call the church office.

Earlier in the week we were experiencing problems in our phone lines and internet system resulting in calls and emails not coming through.  Qwest is looking into this and we apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing.
