hank you to Patsy Vargo, our garden angel, for brightening up the front of the church by filling the planters and the front garden area with beautiful flowers and statues.  Lawnmowers and weeders are needed as we move into the warmer months.  Our months of mowing are scheduled for May, July, and September.  Please call Nick Cetto if you can be of assistance, 761-0407.

HELP!  HELP!  HELP CHRISTIAN ED!

The Christian Education Board is in dire straits.  Severely short-handed for the 2009/10 year with only 4 members, they will be hard-pressed to keep our CE program going all by themselves.  Five, yep, count ?em, 5 positions are open on the board.  Please, please, please prayerfully consider joining the Board. Men are welcome!  Being a board member DOES NOT mean you are expected to teach Sunday School!  Our CE Board truly needs your help.  Won't you please answer the call?  Call Janet Koostra for more information, 727-8443.

Christ United Methodist is moving forward with their new basement windows project!  The downstairs Sunday School wing of our facility is in need of new windows.  The total cost is $8,350 for the 12 windows that need replacing. They are more than half way to their goal with $5,378 being collected so far.  The Memorial Fund donated $745, matching our Council contribution from the defunct LOGOS fund to this cause. If you would like to help, please indicate so by writing "CUMC windows" in the memo portion of your check.  This will be a great improvement to the Sunday School rooms.

4th OF JULY FUN & KAZOO BAND

Light the sparklers!  4th of July is just around the corner.  Let's showcase our wonderful church with a float in the 4th of July Parade!  This year's theme "Celebrating America Past, Present, and Future" is perfect!  We're the church descended from the Pilgrims- you can't get much more "America Past" than that! What do we need?  A truck and flatbed trailer, design ideas, and patriots of all ages!  Let's Celebrate God Through Action and let Great Falls know what a great church we have.  Ready for some silly fun?  How about a UCC Kazoo Band to bring musical madness to the parade?  Tunes will be simple.  No experience necessary!  Katchy, Krazy, Kazoos!  To join the fun for the parade and kazoo band, please call Janet Koostra at 727-8443.

SPECIAL YOUTH EVENTS

The final meeting for Junior Youth Group (grades 3-5) will be Wednesday, May 27, at 6:00 P.M.  We'll finish the second fabulous year with a picnic, prizes, and play!  KIDS and PARENTS are invited.

Stay tuned for more plans as the regular Wednesday night youth groups have concluded for the summer.

NAMETAG WINNER!  Timothy Seery was last Sunday's nametag drawing winner! He won a Starbucks gift card.  You could be next!

(thank you to Colleen Mercer for donating her Great Harvest Bread Company gift card, received for being a Sunday School teacher, to the nametag drawing brigade).
