THANKSGIVING POTLUCK DINNER

                   SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22nd, 5:00 P.M.

The Thanksgiving dinner, sponsored by the Fellowship Board, is this Sunday November 22nd at 5:00 P.M.  It's free, it's fun, and it's fellowship.  If you did not get a chance to sign up, that's ok- JUST SHOW UP!  The more the merrier as we gather together to feast and count our blessings.  If you would like a ride to the dinner, please call the office so that we may arrange for transportation.

Thank you to everyone who brought in non-perishable food items for The Salvation Army Thanksgiving baskets.  Your giving filled seven baskets for people who are less fortunate so they too will have a nice Thanksgiving!

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS & ROOM PICK UP

This Sunday children begin in Sunday School Room 4 to begin Pageant practice!  All children are invited to participate. Such A Lot Like Me will include all Pre-School through Middle School children.  Adults and older students are welcome to assist.  Come and share your many talents.  The Pageant will be presented on December 13th during worship.

CANS FOR CHRISTHOPER

The next fundraiser for Christhoper Mongeopa, our Global Ministries child who lives in thePhilippines, is to begin collecting aluminum cans in the Fellowship Hall.  Cans will be collected now through January.

A quote from Rev. Jim's sermon on Sunday, A Gaggle of Geese and a Flock of Faith: "Long before you were conceived people you know not, but whose likeness you bear, made this decision for you.  That you would be in church this morning, sharing in the faith they shaped through the trials and tribulations of their lives by the grace of God.  Indeed, you are standing on Holy ground, making some mighty old people proud."

MIDDLE SCHOOL PIZZA & A MOVIE Attention 6th-9th graders!  You are invited to enjoy (free) pizza and watch a movie on the big screen at church.  On Saturday, November 28th, come to church at 5:00 P.M. for pizza with a movie to follow.  Watch for postcards in the mail.  Invite a friend!  For questions or to RSVP, please call Janet Koostra at 727-8443.  (What's your favorite pizza?  What movie should we watch?)

INVITATION TO THE JOURNEY OF THE PEOPLE OF GOD UPDATE

Thank you to the nearly 90 folks who attended our congregational meeting last Sunday, to Patty Cetto for taking minutes, and to Julie Branom for providing refreshments. Those present voted close to unanimously to go forward with this program, which will commence in late January or February of 2010. We will be in touch with our co-directors, Revs. Bill & Connie Robey, to begin organizing the process.  At this point we are seeking to call 10-12 persons from within our congregation who will serve on our leadership team.  Their commitment will be to attend six 5 hour training sessions, likely in Missoula, over the next two or three years of the process.  They will then return to the congregation and lead us through the six segments of the program, each including a 4-8 week Bible study.  The leaders will facilitate the Bible studies, with the content being provided by the program, which we understand to be quite good.  So, be listening, for "God is still speaking," and may be calling you.   Handouts from this meeting are available at the church or you may wish to visit our website, www.greatfallsucc.org and go to the WORSHIP page, then click on Invitation to the Journey.

SEWING HELP WANTED (PLEASE!) from Janet Koostra

I need help with a simple sewing project!  Campers at 3rd and 4th grade Camp Mimanagish gathered school supplies for Church World Services (CWS) to give to the needy children around the world.  Cloth school bags are distributed with the supplies.  I need 16 sturdy school bags to complete this mission project.  I have the very simple instructions.  But, I can't sew.  Heck, I can't even thread a needle!  Please call me at 727-8443 if you can help.  Thank You!
