SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS & ROOM PICK UP

Children begin in Worship this Sunday before being dismissed to a Sunday Special in room 4 with Liz Lee.  A teacher is needed forPre School in room 5.  We continue to collect aluminum cans in Fellowship Hall as a fund raiser for Christhoper Mongeopa, our Global Ministries child who lives in the Philippines.  Thank you for the generous donations we have received so far!

Our next rotation is Christmas:  Gospel Comparison and will go January 10-24.  TEACHERS ARE NEEDED FOR EACH OF THE THREE LESSONS.  Children will learn how God finds many voices to spread the good news of the Christmas story, which is:  Emmanuel, God among us, in the flesh.  You can begin 2010 by sharing your love with our little ones!  If you can help, please contact Bonnie Warren at 453-4316 or 727-1380, or Christeen Collins at 453-5954.  HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A quote from Rev. Jim's Christmas Eve prayer: "We pray for the welfare of the world.  Upon all who seek it, grant wisdom and courage, patience and perseverance.  Let the angel's song of good will ring down upon your earth, and be the song of the nations.  Especially this Christmas Eve we pray for all homes in every nation, for every mother who cradles her infant, for any child who is hungry or unwanted, for the innocent upon whom the wars of the world fall.  We pray for them.  Enlarge our sympathies, and enable us through the work of the church to carry the ministries of Christ to the end of the earth..."

NAME CHANGE:  Flathead Valley United Church of Christ is now COMMUNITY CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH!  Thank you to all who have supported Kalispell's FVUCC in the past, and we hope that you will continue to support the new and improved Community Congregational Church!

                                                           Peace, Rev. Darryl

    2009 CHRISTMAS OFFERINGS

Thank you to everyone who donated to this year's Christmas Fund Offering, one of five Special Mission Offerings of the United Church of Christ. A few more very generous donations came in bringing the total to  $907!

Our Christmas Eve Offering, which serves the needs of children, including The Salvation Army Christmas baskets, Children's Receiving Home, Mercy Home, and Intermountain Children's Home in Helena totaled $2,170.29.

WEDNESDAYS ARE BACK!

Beginning January 6, our regular Wednesday line up is back on track.

5:30 P.M.  Wednesday Night Live! kicks off with

                         supper

6:15 P.M.  Groups for all ages

       6:30 P.M.  Confirmation Class resumes

       7:00 P.M.  Cantabellé Ringers

       8:15 P.M.  Chancel Choir

A new Wednesday Night Live! small adult group will begin in January, facilitated by Captain Jeromy Wells.  The group will view the excellent, but short-lived TV show Nothing Sacred, a 1997 ABC series about Father Ray, a card-playing, cocktail-sipping, blues-loving priest, ministers to his parishioners at St. Thomas, a large urban church in an inner-city neighborhood.  Father Ray grapples with his own personal failings, including occasional crises of faith.  Bring a friend and join us!

The Rocky Mountain Dust Devils 4H group is collecting coats for their annual coat drive.  Please drop off used or outgrown coats at the church from now until January 15th.  Coats will be picked up and distributed to area schools for children in need.
