ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICE, STONE SOUP SUPPER,

TAIZÉ SERVICE

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 17th.  Please join us for worship at 5:45 P.M., followed by our Stone Soup supper at 6:30 P.M.  We are in charge of dinner this year.  Look for the sign up sheet to go around this Sunday.  If you're not comfortable driving at night, and you would like a ride, please call the church office so that one may be arranged.  Lenten devotionals will be available in the narthex for all ages!  Lenten Taizé Services begin on Thursday, February 18th, from 12:15-12:45 P.M. in the sanctuary.  Join us for 30 minutes of contemplative music, prayer and scripture lessons led by Revs. Jim Petersen and Kama Hamilton Morton.  Meant to be a time set apart to be with God and to help you unwind and center yourself, this joint meditation will be held every Thursday during Lent.

SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS & ROOM PICK UP

Children begin in Worship on February 14 and will then continue their lessons about Ezekiel, singing: "Dem bones, dem bones gonna walk around!  Now here the name of the Lord!", thanks to Kenny Staigmiller and his guitar!

Classes will be in the following rooms:

Pre School          Room 5   Cathy & Annie Petersen

Grades K-1         Room 2  Barbara Walters

Grades 2-3         Room 4   Syneva Heupel

Grades 4-5         Room 3     Kenny Staigmiller

Middle School     Room 7     Zach Nelson

Another $7.70 was collected from our recycled cans, bringing the total "cans for Christhoper" to $37.65!  Thanks to all of you who keep those cans rolling in!

A big thank you to Russ Davis, Bob Dillard and Dick Blossom of Joint Facilities for removing the two large evergreens on the SW corner of our lot that had become overgrown, prohibiting the growth of our new linden trees and grass.  Removing these trees opens up the area and provides better security and exposure to access our basement and choir room doors. FREE WOOD is available for the taking outside while it lasts.

NUBE ENSEMBLE IN CONCERT, SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 7:00 P.M.

Nicolas Carter, Paraguayan harpist from Minneapolis, is coming to Montana with an international ensemble called Nube, and presenting in concert The Story of the Golden Bird.  The quartet blends dynamic harmonies of harp, guitar, and flute with lively Latin American percussion rhythms.  Our concert, in the sanctuary, is open to the public, and sponsored by our Christian Service Board with a reception by our Fellowship Board to follow.  A freewill offering will be received, with a $10 suggestion.  Proceeds will go to Haiti relief.  Spread the word!  Invite your friends, and join us!  (Check out Nube at http://www.nicolascarter.com/nube.php).
