A quote from Rev. Jim's Let the Journey Begin sermon last Sunday: "We will be tempted to create kingdoms in this world. We will be tempted by the powers we possess and want more. We will be tempted to seek glory for ourselves. Jesus was tempted by these same three things, following forty days and nights in the wilderness, and he rejected them. He rejected them all, for these three things - the kingdom, the power, and the glory - belong to God. Sound familiar? This is why Jesus taught us to pray, ?Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.' "

Discovering the Journey "As a people of God who love the Lord Jesus Christ, we desperately need as North American people to view our culture from a missionary perspective. We need to be able to see what Jesus sees, to hear what Jesus hears, to touch what Jesus touches and go where Jesus goes." - Richard Mouw Our congregation is preparing to embark upon a dynamic transformation journey to prepare itself for the future God has in mind for us. On this journey we will be introduced to resources and processes designed to help our congregation think afresh about what God is calling us to be and do in this time and place. While on this journey we will also discover how to become flexible, agile, and responsive in today's and tomorrow's turbulent environment, as a faithful and effective community of Christian people - a distinctive missional community.

RESPITE PROVIDERS NEEDED Imagine you are a parent to a foster, adoptive, birth or kinship child who has difficulty in dealing with his/her emotions and relationships, and has difficult behaviors. Our Intermountain parents work intensely day to day in the process of attachment, where relationships can get stressful, and parents can become weary. Time to yourself to refill emotional and functional needs as a parent becomes very important to each child's treatment. Parents cannot give stability to a child if they aren't emotionally fulfilled themselves! Respite provides these families with the much needed break to do just that. Respite is provided to most Intermountain families as a part of his/her child's treatment. Each child stays with the Respite Family for one weekend (48 hours) per month. Respite Providers are responsible for providing care in an environment that is safe and nurturing. Intermountain requires and provides training including but not limited to Intermountain approved interventions, first aide, CPR, and medical issues. An Intermountain staff member is on-call to deal with any crisis that may arise while the child is in Respite Care. Respite Providers are paid $65.00 or $85.00 per 48 hour period, depending upon the individual child's treatment level. If you would like to become a Respite Provider or have any further questions about the program,
