Women's Retreat at Camp Mimanagish
Program: Nurturing Ourselves and Relaxing Into God's Love
July 26-29, 2008 (Sat. aft. - Tues. morn.)
This year's Women's Retreat promises to be the best ever! Our special
guest is Pamela Bradburn, who has her Masters degree in Transforming
Spirituality. She is wonderfully warm and knowledgeable. I have found
that she can answer any clearly question about spirituality, and
together we have reworked the Retreat agenda for this year. We even
changed the name - see above.
Here are some highlights of this retreat. Surrounded by the beauty of
Creation, women of all ages will:
---experience Celtic spirituality and discover why it's so appealing.
---learn about nurturing ourselves because we are God's children.
---explore any parallels between ourselves and the 2nd century martyr,
Perpetua.
---use drama, art, and other skills to co-create with God.
---discuss how we can refer to other religions with respect.
---nap, hike, play games or watch movies in the evening together. (We expect
lots of avid Scrabble and card games again this year.)
---enjoy a massage or two by masseuse Patti Ford, for separate cost, of
course. (Everyone loved Patti's massages in 2006!)
---enjoy gourmet salads and lighter meals (Jenny will cook again!).
---relax into a caring and sharing community of women.
I hope you can feel my excitement about this year's Retreat. Please
register now and encourage others to do so! All women are welcome -
they don't have to be UCC. Remember: coming to Women's Retreat is an
investment in yourself and in our Camp Mimanagish! There is no advance
reading assignment this year.
Having Pamela all to ourselves is a terrific opportunity. Pamela now is
a Spiritual Mentor as well as a Washington State Public Employees
Commissioner. We met in 1973 when they were lawyers together in a law
firm in Seattle. Pamela grew up primarily in Asia because her parents
served as missionaries in Thailand. From our talks I can see how at
home she is in her new work as a Spiritual Mentor. Her clarity of
thought and talk are remarkable.

Now is the time to register! Many have said, "I hope to come," but only
a few have officially registered so far. Last year we had 23, and I
hope we'll have 25 this year. Register on-line at
www.campmimanagish.org, use the paper form at your church, or just call
the Conference office 406.656.8688. The cost still is just $120, and
well worth it!
Questions? Email me at joannye@iwks.net or call me at 406.322.8587.
Shalom - see you at our Women's Retreat this year! Joan Nye
